Teacher Sorted

HOW IT WORKS

What do you actually do with Teacher Sorted?

Set the time you want to work, add what needs doing and see whether the two fit together.

This is for the work around teaching.

Planning, preparation, marking, assessment, admin, communication, resources and follow-up all belong here. Your timetabled lesson delivery does not need to be entered as work.

1

START WITH THE TIME

Set up the time you want to work

Teacher Sorted starts with the non-teaching work time you choose to make available.

Set up a usual pattern once using PPA, preparation or non-contact periods, plus any before- or after-school time you want to use.

That pattern becomes next week’s starting point. You can change any day without changing the usual pattern.

A staff meeting or parents’ evening is not another task to schedule here. Reduce the work time available on that day instead.

ADD THE WORK

Get it out of your head

Quick Capture lets you type or dictate a task without filling in a long form.

Write “Mark English books by Friday. 45 mins.” and Teacher Sorted can recognise the task, deadline and time estimate. You can edit any of it.

Regular jobs can be set up once as routines. They return when they are due, so you do not need to keep adding them.

CHECK THE WEEK

See whether the work fits

Week compares the work you have planned or committed to with the working time available.

It does not treat your entire backlog as work that must happen this week. Undated work stays in Work until you choose it or give it a deadline.

This gives you a usable picture of the week without pretending Teacher Sorted knows every job that might appear.

TODAY AND FIT FINDER

I’ve got 25 minutes. What should I do?

Tell Fit Finder how much time you have and what you have access to.

It considers the deadline, context, likely interruptions and whether the work needs concentration. It can also keep a larger task for a better block later.

The recommendation is optional. You can open Work and choose something else at any time.

5

WHEN THE WORK DOES NOT FIT

You decide what changes.

If the work is bigger than the time available, Teacher Sorted shows the gap.

You can protect work, move it, reduce it, delegate it or wait, or mark it for discussion.

Teacher Sorted shows the effect of each decision. It does not make or apply those decisions without you.

6

FINISH THE WORKING TIME

Stop when the time you chose is finished.

Teacher Sorted does not automatically turn evenings, weekends or school holidays into work time. If nothing fits the block you have, it can leave the block empty.

You’re done for now.
